Learning & Teaching & Research Renewal

Renovations, reconstruction and new works continue as we continually upgrade our facilities.  The civil engineering laboratory (Z1) has now been refurbished, air-conditioned and equipped for new hands-on experiments.  The heat engine laboratory (P7) has had significant funding invested to finalise its research potential.  The foundations for the new Soil Chemistry laboratory, co-founded by the Faculty and the National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture (NCEA) have been poured and the extension work and the hyper-sonics and laser laboratories (P10) are nearing completion.

New major Urban & Regional Planning

The Faculty of Engineering and Surveying has introduced a new major in Urban and Regional Planning (URP). The introduction of the URP major into the Associate Degree program will deliver the first two year para-professional program for urban and regional planners in Australia. The Associate Degree will be fully articulated with the professional level Bachelor of Spatial Science (URP) Program.  The introduction URP will assist organisations in meeting the demand for Town Planners and provide the opportunity for some to gain a formal degree in Urban and Regional Planning.
