We are in full swing organising our showcase event for the year, Open Day on Sunday August 19. This year the faculty has some exciting plans for interactive activities and even a little robot fun. High school students from across the Darling Downs made the trip to the University of Southern Queensland recently to develop an invaluable set of leadership skills through the Faculty of Education's Youth Leadership Program (YLP).

Mum of three Rachel Leslie has multi-tasking down to a fine art.

So much so that while studying for her Master's degree in education, the dedicated and incredibly brave woman learnt to juggle assignment due dates with baby due dates.

At the Toowoomba campus, you can see firsthand our education robots, part of the Robot RAL-ly project. This project is one of the Faculty of Education's ongoing research projects, aimed at developing new and innovative ways to provide quality education for a broad range of students in diverse contexts.

Melanie Llewellyn

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) student Melanie Llewellyn is proof you can change the direction of your life at any time with hard work and discipline.


The mature aged student from Brassall recently graduated (12 May) with outstanding results including First Class Honours, the University Medal and the Early Childhood Teachers' Association Prize and has already been offered a permanent position with Education Queensland as a Prep teacher at Carole Park State School.
