What's On in April
April is a-flurry with rehearsals and preparations for some of our big annual projects - Children's Theatre Week (May); McGregor Winter School (July) and the Shakespeare Festival (October).

Superheroes in Training
Our second year Creative Arts students are in rehearsal and the first years are busily building behind-the-scenes for this year's super Children's Theatre Week show.
Skeeter's School for Successful Superheroes is especially for young theatre-goers. Whether you're a family, school or community group - this play will be an excellent adventure!
Weekday, evening and weekend sessions available.

Winter Arts Retreat
If you've ever wanted to paint, draw or sculpt your own masterpieces; create fabulous hats and fascinators; or fashion unique jewellery and silverware, McGregor Winter School (1-7 July) is the place for you!
But be quick - classes are filling fast for the popular arts retreat, with limited places available in Oils with Colley Whisson, Watercolours with John Lovett, Porcelain with Julie Shepherd and Digital Photography with Ken Ball.
Enroll by 3 May to receive a special Early Bird Discount.

Shakespeare Festival Season Announced
USQ's Toowoomba campus will be a-buzz with all things Shakespeare in October during our annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival.
On the Mainstage, you can catch The Winter's Tale (11-20 Oct) and To Glee or Not to Glee (16 Oct). Also on the program are a double-bill of Shakespeare-inspired films (13 Oct); a Twilight Shakespearean Talk (9 Oct) and a retrospective exhibition in the Gallery throughout October.

Arts Gallery News
Drop into the Gallery this month to see Higher Ground - Toowoomba & Recent Works by Maureen Hansen on-show until 11 April.
This month, we also welcome international Artist-in-Residence, Kamal Swami. Please join us for the opening of his exhibition - Drawn to India in the Gallery at 5pm on 16 April.
The USQ Arts Gallery is open from 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday and admission is free of charge.

Come celebrate the skill and creativity of our music students and their lecturers, Melissa Forbes (voice) and Bruce Woodward (guitar) as they perform original songs and unique arrangements of popular songs by others.

Stonestreets Partnership
We are pleased to announce our exciting new partnership with Stonestreets Coaches which will see the popular Courtesy Concert Coach service continue for Toowoomba retirement village residents to travel to our concerts free of charge.
Through this partnership we will also be offering free travel opportunities for regional primary schools to Children's Theatre Week and secondary schools to the Shakespeare Festival - call us for further details!

Race Day a Winner
Our annual Tracking the Arts Race Day - held last month at Clifford Park - was a wonderful success, raising over $7500 which will go towards 2013 student-based projects.
