Masterpiece of Musical Theatre
Audiences are assured of a wildly entertaining and provocative night at the theatre when The Threepenny Opera is presented in the Arts Theatre from 21-30 August.
The cabaret-style musical theatre, based on John Gay’s Beggar’s Opera, will feature an exciting line-up of student and professional actors, singers, musicians and creatives.

McGregor Schools News
Enrolments close at the end of this month for the McGregor on the Bay masterclasses.
Held at Hervey Bay over the long-weekend of 18-21 September, the intensive visual arts workshops include painting classes with Donald James Waters, Herman Pekel, Ross Paterson, Lyn Butchart and Penelope Gilbert-Ng and a drawing class with Keith Norris.
But please be quick , some classes are already full and others are filling fast.

2010 Shakespeare Festival
Our 7th annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival will return in 2010 with Shakespeare's great romantic comedy, Twelfth Night.
The hilarious tale of mistaken identity, comical characters and raucous antics will be played out on the Festival's starlit stage in Toowoomba's beautiful Queens Park from 4-14 March and at Hervey Bay's balmy
Seafront Oval from 25-27 March.
Bookings will be open from 1 November.

Big Band Season Underway
The Ergon Energy USQ Big Band kicks off their 2009 season of regional tours this month to Hervey Bay and Stanthorpe followed by visits to Chinchilla in September and Millmerran in October.
The Band's season will culminate with their 3 October concert in Toowoomba's Empire Theatre with Australian Entertainer of the Year, Rhonda Burchmore.
The program will include jazz, blues and big band favourites including Sway, Fever, And All That Jazz, L-O-V-E, Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans, Don’t Rain on My Parade, Tuxedo Junction, Route 66, Bohemian Rhapsody, For Once In My Life, Up A Lazy River, and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
