Summer School Concerts

2012 McGregor Summer SchoolOur 44th annual McGregor Summer School will draw to a close this weekend.

The ten days of creativity will culminate with a Gala Concert in the Empire Theatre on Friday evening (13 January) featuring over 130 musicians and the McGregor Arts Festival on Saturday (14 January) - a free afternoon of exhibitions, ensemble and orchestra performances and open-studios.

Twilight Ensemble Recital

The View from Madeleine's CouchThe 2012 Twilight Series will open on 8 February with Brisbane-based quintet, The View from Madeleine's Couch.

The ensemble's sultry sounds of traditional and modern Brazilian music are sure to transport you to a sublime hideaway of palm trees and sea breezes.

USQ Art Collection On-show

Deerbird by Shayle FlesserVisit the USQ Library this month to see a selection of works from the USQ Art Collection, together with a range of loaned works by invited artists.

The USQ Art Collection has been growing steadily since the formation of the DDIAE in the 1970s and contains over 600 artworks by internationally and nationally recognised artists.

Continuity presents a small snapshot of the University’s cultural investment - on-show till 9 February.

Call for Glee Nominations

GleeFollowing on from the resounding success of our inaugural Glee project at the 2011 Shakespeare in the Park Festival, To Glee or Not to Glee will return bigger and brighter in 2012.

This year's project is open to school and community groups who are invited to present a song and dance (5 minutes) based on themes drawn from the 2012 mainstage production of Richard III.
