Stage Set for Shakespeare Festival

Richard IIIIf you've visited the University's Toowoomba campus recently, you will have seen the SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK FESTIVAL site taking shape on the Front Oval.

The 2012 Festival will run from 10-27 October and includes three exciting events:

Richard III - pack a picnic, bring a blanket and settle-in for a date with Shakespeare's most charismatic and captivating villain (12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 October).

To Glee or Not to Glee - an extravaganza of song and dance showcasing the talent of our local school and community groups (Wed 17 October).

Shakespeare on Screen - an afternoon double-bill of films with a Shakespearean twist (Sun 14 October).

What's On in the Gallery

Little White Lies by Jason Castro DooleyVisit the USQ Arts Gallery this month to see an exhibition of works by Jason Castro Dooley.

Against the Grain (2-25 October) explores cultural hybridity through the use of contemporary sand painting and platinum photography. Jason investigates his dual heritage through the combination of contemporary Western art and traditional Native American and Mexican art forms.

There will be an Exhibition Preview at 5pm on Tuesday 2 October - all welcome.

Music Theatre Celebration

42nd StreetOur School of Creative Arts music and theatre students will present an evening of song, dance and drama in celebration of music theatre from across the ages - with a touch of local flavour.

The program will include snippets from Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors and 42nd Street.
