Informing principles

As part of the strategically aligned Academic Professional Development (APD) LTSU, in conjunction with key L&T stakeholders within each Faculty, will provide a series of eight (8) Tailored Professional Development (TPD) workshops. Each workshop is designed to complement and provide additional resources for the 8 Foundations courses being offered as ongoing professional development for academic staff at all levels. Each workshop though based on the foundations materials are tailored to meet the needs of each faculty or department thereby contextualising the foundations courses for different disciplines.

Goals

  • To provide faculties with a series of 8 workshops based on key learning and teaching priorities for the following 12 months,

  • Align each workshop with resources being provided through, and required for, the 8 Foundations courses,

  • Create LTSU site dedicated to the support of TPD, and

  • Aligned with virtual booking system

Details of Faculty support for an 18 month period

Faculty AD (L&T) will need to plan events in conjunction with LTSU staff via the Faculty LTEC. Some faculty academic staff would also need to liaise with LTSU staff to plan discipline specific examples.

Scholarship opportunities

Scholarship opportunities exist in writing up the processes surrounding developing discipline specific APD activities aligned with Foundations program.

Monthly PRP reporting process

Evaluation strategies

LTSU will conduct evaluations of each workshop conducted. They will also facilitate a meeting of AD (L&T) to evaluate the perceived effectiveness of the TPD program to the faculties.
