The Virtual Learning Centre will be an online resource through which students access academic learning support in all its forms incorporating 1:1 support, workshops delivered on campus and virtually. The aim would be to link the VLC both physically and virtually with other support providers within the spirit of student learning spaces philosophy.

Goals

  • To extend learning support to students who study away from USQ campuses

  • To increase flexibility of learning support for all students

  • To work within the vision of the Learning Spaces project

  • To provide uniform learning support for all campuses

  • To increase flexibility of provision of learning support by staff

  • To offer 1:1 and 1:many consultations in a variety of ways

  • To utilize principles of peer support to grow resources for students by students

  • To link closely with ALSonline to provide self service for students and examiners

  • To provide a self-booking self-auditing system

  • To build in the capacity to link with other USQ support providers and systems

  • To provide capacity for students to work through structured learning support programs that enhance their e-portfolio

  • To provide capacity for students to develop e-portfolios linked with graduate qualities
