Welcome to USQ Law!

Our new law programs are designed to respond to the needs of students, and give you a range of options, whether it be the Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or combined degrees in law and commercebusiness or arts. We also offer a graduate entry Juris Doctor (JD), which recognises your prior degree, and offers you a shorter program.

Our LLB/JD programs are fully accredited, and satisfy the academic requirements for admission as a lawyer in Queensland and other Australian States and Territories. Our law programs are practical, relevant, and designed in co-operation with the legal profession and industry. A law degree can lead to a range of career opportunities, or perhaps enhance your present career.

We understand the challenges you face, whether it be as a school leaver or mature aged learner, and studying law with USQ gives you the flexibility you need. Law is available on campus at ToowoombaSpringfield or by our award winning distance education programs. You make the choice.

In addition to face to face teaching for on campus students, in distance education we use a range of innovative communication technologies so that you can always stay in touch with your lecturers.  Because of small student numbers in each course, USQ Law is a place where lecturers know your name, and take a personal interest in your progress.

Geraldine MackenzieOur experienced and friendly staff are committed to teaching excellence, and have close links with the profession.  We have been teaching law into the business programs at USQ for over 35 years, and bring this expertise into the new law programs.  USQ Law has recently been joined by two new professors, both myself, from the QUT School of Law, and Professor Reid Mortensen from the School of Law, University of Queensland.  USQ is a great place to be – why not join us?

I look forward to welcoming you to our innovative programs here at USQ Law.
