International workshop on Fibre Composites in Civil Infrastructure (FCCI)Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, 1-2 December 2008The Centre of Excellence in Engineered Fibre Composites (CEEFC), a Research Centre at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) has played a leading role in the development of fibre composite applications in civil infrastructure. CEEFC has partnered with several industry partners to develop the first fibre composite bridge in Australia and other notable projects including the fibre composite walers for Brisbane riverwalk. A two-day international workshop on Fibre Composites in Civil Infrastructure (FCCI) - Past, Present and Future will be held at USQ Toowoomba, 1-2 December 2008. The workshop will be hosted by the CEEFC, Faculty of Engineering and Surveying, USQ. The aim of the workshop is to bring together leading researchers, industry partners and asset owners who have got a keen interest in implementing the fibre composites in civil infrastructure. This workshop will increase the awareness and understanding of fibre composites in civil applications. This will also give an opportunity for industries to showcase their technologies. We hope you have already put these dates in your calendar to enjoy this workshop in the ‘Garden City’, Toowoomba, located 120 kilometres inland from Brisbane.
