Journalism

Journalists bring us the news. They inform us about the things we need to know. They help us make sense of things and, no matter what, they must be able to communicate.

Studying Journalism with us will provide you with the necessary high-level communication skills to work in this exciting field.  With a practical approach, you will learn reporting, writing, editing, design and production of content for a range of media including radio, television, online, newspapers and magazines. At the postgraduate level, your study will consist of coursework and an advanced reporting project.

Our industry partnerships and regional opportunities provide the opportunity to gain experience and complete internships in print, television and radio newsrooms. We will give you the chance to be on the ground reporting on the most interesting and significant events the world can offer.

You will learn industry standard programs such as Pro-tools and Audacity for audio and radio production and InDesign for print and magazine layout and design. You will also have access to our facilities including an in-house television and radio studio as well as an on-campus newsroom, catering for print and online streams.
