What am I eligible to study

USQ offers many different ways that you can reach your study goals.

A good place to start is to think about what you want out of your study – what career you might like, or what really interests you.

Once you have selected your chosen study field or career, you will be able to select a ‘program'.

At USQ, a ‘program’ is a Diploma, an Associate Degree, a Bachelor Degree, a Master Degree or a Doctorate.

If you have successfully completed:

  • Year 12 (or equivalent) in Australia
  • a TAFE certification (Cert III or IV)
  • Five years work experience (in a relevant field)
  • or our Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP) (or equivalent)

you are eligible for entry into at least one program at USQ.

If I don’t have any qualifications or relevant work experience – what happens?

Perhaps you didn’t finish school, or you didn’t do as well as you had hoped, or you just want to ‘brush up’ on your maths or study skills to make sure you get the best start.

We have created the Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP), which is a free program that gives you all the skills you need to succeed in your degree. It also guarantees you entry to a USQ undergraduate (first) degree.

We also have the Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program (IHEPP) which has been specifically designed to give tertiary preparation skills to Indigenous students.

I just want to study one subject for my job or to see if I like it.

You can definitely do that!

Our Professional development and single courses are offered across all our areas of study, including CPA and ICAA bridging courses.
