QTAC

QTAC allows students to apply for undergraduate programs at university, whether they have just left school or are looking to study at uni for the first time. Here, we will answer any questions you may have about applying through QTAC.

What are the closing dates for my application?

For the most recent dates and information, it is best to look on the QTAC website. However, here are a few key dates to put into your diary.

Applications for Semester 1, 2013 close on 11 February 2013.
Applications for Semester 2, 2013 close on 1 July 2013.
Applications for Semester 3, 2013 close on 28 October 2013.

How can I get into my 'ideal' program?

First, check your program’s admission requirements to make sure that you are eligible.

Also, remember that you have the option to nominate up to six program preferences as part of your application. Plan your preferences using this approach:

Preference 1 and 2: include the 'ideal' programs you would really like to study even if your chances of gaining entry are not assured.
Preference 3 and 4: nominate 'realistic' programs that are less competitive. This will provide another way to the career you want and can be used to upgrade to your 'ideal' program.
Preference 5 and 6: these 'foot-in-the-door' programs are those you are prepared to do if you miss out on your earlier preferences and should be programs that have been quite easy to gain entry into in previous years. These programs will assist you in upgrading to your 'ideal' program.

How much does it cost to apply through QTAC?

There is a small fee to apply through QTAC, which is outlined below:

Current year 12 students - for current Year 12 students the application fee is $32.00
Apply By Web (ABW) - for non-Year 12 applicants the application fee is $60.00.

When will I receive my offer?

USQ has three major offer rounds for student intakes per year. Both USQ and QTAC will let you know whether you have been successful with your application.

Semester 1 programs (starting in March) has a major offer round in January
Semester 2 programs (starting in July) has a major offer round in June
Semester 3 programs (starting in November) has a major offer round in October

QTAC also has early offer rounds for applicants that apply before the major rounds. You can find out the dates for the earlier round at QTAC key dates.
