USQ has a number of resources available for your school to utilise, including online resources to help students prepare for their transition into tertiary study, as well as different programs and events that can allow your students to experience what university life is like.
Online resources
- USQ Degrees and Courses - detailed degree and course information to help students decide what study path is right for them.
- Career guidance - provides students with information about career counselling.
- USQ Careers and Employment - valuable information about how students can increase their employability, find a job and access support if they are unsure about their future career.
- Remote access labs - off-site access to practical and laboratory experiments.
- Career-o-matic - an interactive mix 'n' match career game that helps students understand what is involved in different types of careers.
- Artsworx school resources - a collection of resource kits based on past Artsworx theatre productions that are available for teachers to use as a reference source.
- myfuture - various online tools such as quizzes, occupation profiles and job seeking tips can help students plan their career path.
- Centrelink - online payment calculators can assist students in understanding what payments they may be eligible for when studying.
Events
USQ organises and attends a variety of events for future students throughout the year, from Open Days and career expos to information evenings and experience days. These events are a good opportunity for students get a glimpse of what university life is like and learn about what career they might like to pursue.
Building Engagement and Aspirations through Mentoring in Schools (BEAMS) program
BEAMS is a voluntary peer mentoring program which involves USQ students visiting local schools regularly to interact and support students in a class room environment. This program is a valuable tool for students, enhancing their skills and knowledge to prepare them for education and training beyond secondary school.
