When I started at USQ, I felt for the first time in my life that I can truly make a difference in the lives of so many people and contribute to society in a meaningful way. To have the privilege and honour of investing in, and influencing, the next generation of leaders, no matter what background or social status they are from, is what made teaching at USQ special for me. I feel proud to fulfil and enrich the life of students and my fellow colleagues.

I live by the motto “I am an Engineer and I’m here to change the world” and I do so by influencing the next generation of engineering graduates to believe that they can make a difference in this world and contribute to the betterment of society in whatever capacity they may find themselves within their professional life. As such, this is one of the reason I have been called to lead the engineering profession in Queensland as the 2012 Qld President. It is a privilege and honour, but a humbly experience to serve others in advocating to governments and industries on behalf of the communities in Queensland.

I was the proud recipient of a number of teaching awards including the 2010 USQ Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Learning and Teaching, 2010 USQ Senior Fellow, 2009 USQ Associate Learning and Teaching Fellowship, and 2008 USQ Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching (Early Career). These awards are a recognition and endorsement of my passion and dedication to enriching the lives of our future generation through education.
