Head Start
If you are a high-achieving Year 11 or 12 student who has the capability, maturity and motivation to undertake university study while still finishing high school, then our Head Start program may be for you. If you choose to start your university studies early, you will be:
- guaranteed entry into a related USQ program upon successful completion of a Head Start course
- offered a fee exemption (the first Head Start course is free of charge)
- awarded two points towards your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
- awarded academic credit towards a USQ degree, and
- experiencing study at USQ.
Courses
Our Head Start courses are offered on-campus at USQ Toowoomba, USQ Springfield and USQ Fraser Coast or via distance education.
How to apply
To apply:
- Choose a course offered in the Head Start program.
- Complete our Head Start application form (PDF 142KB), with your parent's approval. Attach a copy of your latest report card and provide this to your school coordinator.
Once your school Principal has provided approval and your application is forwarded to USQ, we will assess your application and if successful, you will be sent enrolment information. We have also created a helpful checklist (PDF 242KB) for you to get ready before the start of semester.
