Chelsea- I’m Chelsea and I’m a USQ student. I grew in Yangerie, we have a property out there. I’m the second youngest of six children. Grew up on horses all our lives. Like all the farm stuff that’s fun cows, ducks, geese all that.
Up until about grade nine I was set on being an architect I just thought that was so interesting and then year 11 got into business at school, really enjoyed it found it like you know thought this was my area and then got into that.
I applied for a scholarship, got it first day so didn’t ring them anytime could got into contact with about what subjects we were doing and if we ever needed to talk we can get them like that and call them from the uni any time.
Yeah it’s only half an hour drive most days down to uni and car pool so that always makes it fun. Yeah just being close I can still ride horses. Mum still cooks me dinner and makes me breakfast all that and yeah I don’t have to worry about all the expenses you put out for cause I’m studying somewhere way away.
It was really daunting first day because I don’t have any friends that started with me but I’ve met some nice people here and it’s been so much better than. The courses they’ve been really informative and they’re kind of fun so I really like it.
Umm, at USQ the support is really great you’ve got lots of teacher help. The phone numbers they give out, you’ve got email addresses, contact with them all the time. Small classes make it really easy to learn because the teachers are always there to help you, it’s really good. You come to uni, you consult your peers and everything like that and the 24hr access to computers is really good, You can come as early as you want and as late as you want and you still got internet and you don’t have to worry about it dropping out or anything like that.
I guess I just like to ride my horses, shopping, go to the beach is always a good thing, just hang out with friends and have a good time.
(Girls in shop talking) It’s really nice, no people will think I like that one…
I have two part time jobs one as a pharmacy assistant and the other is as a traineeship at an accountants in town. At the moment I think I’m set on being an accountant but you know see how thing go might find something more interesting and change as we go along there are so many things out there to offer me.
I guess I like USQ just because there is just so much help there offer so many courses like external and on campus, there’s just a lot of help you can get everywhere. Just an easy way to study and fun.
