Living on-campus is a great way to enhance your university experience. Our three Residential Colleges are located on-campus in Toowoomba - so you’re never too far from uni.
College Life
USQ Residential College students come from many countries and backgrounds. Each College is particularly proud of its academic achievements, its cultural and sporting excellence and its commitment to projects that benefit the wider community.
Academic Life
The USQ Residential Colleges provide an environment in which you are encouraged to achieve your potential. A college-based Academic Support Program is provided to supplement the tutorials of the University. Student mentors, covering all disciplines, are appointed to provide academic advice.
Social Life
Each College has its own Resident Student Club (RSC), of which all resident are members. Each Club's committee is elected annually by the residents and arranges many social events throughout the year, including formal and semi-formal dinners, informal social activities, dances, excursions, sporting teams and inter-college events.
Sporting Life
You can participate in a diverse range of sporting competitions at inter-college level (through the Residential Shield) and at university level. The emphasis is more on participation and enjoyment than it is on high level sporting prowess.
Each college has a special tradition which creates a friendly rivalry between them at various sporting events throughout the year.
Accommodation
Our colleges offer:
- comfortable single study bedrooms, with private or shared bathroom facilities
- telephones and
- broadband internet access
Rooms are serviced weekly and freshly laundered linen is provided.
Meals
Each college is fully catered and has its own dining hall. Each meal offers a wide variety of choice and caters for special dietary needs.
Self-catered facilities are also offered at Steele Rudd College for those who prefer to prepare their own meals.
Scholarships
USQ offers a range of Scholarships each year which may be used by you to help fund your accommodation fees among other expenses. These scholarships cater for students from all backgrounds as well as high achieving students.
