Undergraduate applicants

USQ undergraduate programs include Diplomas, Associate Degrees, Bachelor Degrees and Honours Degrees and application procedures will vary depending on who you are:

Current Year 12 students

As defined by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC), you are considered a Current Year 12 applicant if:

  • you are completing Year 12 in Australia this year, including OP ineligible students
  • you are completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia
  • you are an international student completing Year 12 in Australia this year
  • you are repeating Year 12 in Australia

Admission to USQ is made by lodging an application through QTAC's Twelve to Tertiary (TTT) online application service.

Non Year 12's

Many of our students do not come to USQ straight from high school. As defined by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC), you are considered a Non Year 12 applicant if:

  • you are currently not studying an Australian Year 12 qualification
  • you are studying an overseas Year 12 qualification
  • you are already enrolled at a different tertiary institution
  • you are using alternative entry qualifications, including employment experience, Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), Personal Competencies Assessment (CPS) to gain tertiary entrance
  • you are completing Senior External Examination subjects or Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation

Admission to USQ is made by lodging an application through QTAC's Apply by Web (ABW) online application service.

Eligible direct entry applicants

A select group of applicants can apply directly to USQ and these include:

  • USQ students who are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in the previous academic year and have at least one result (which could be a 'fail' grade) within a USQ award program 
  • applicants who have successfully completed the USQ Tertiary Preparation Program, or Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program
  • honours programs
  • programs which articulate from TAFE or private providers
  • employer sponsored programs
  • further education and training programs, such as Bachelor of Vocational Education & Training (BVET)
