Awards categories and selection criteria

All applications are judged on evidence of success in the following areas:

  1. Nominee’s current or recently completed project/s in the relevant environment; ie school, tertiary education, academic or professional environments
  2. Nominee’s achievements and activities in the relevant environment
  3. Nominee’s relevant extracurricular activities.

In addition to the above, applications are judged on evidence of success in at least three of the following criteria relevant to the award category:

This category will recognise achievements of students in OAC programs who have aspirations to move into higher education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Go WEST Primary School Student Award

This category will recognise the achievements of Primary school students in Science (including Mathematics), Engineering and Surveying or Technology.

Go WEST Secondary School Student Award

This category will recognise the achievements of Secondary school students in Science (including Mathematics), Engineering and Surveying or Technology.

Go WEST USQ Student Award – Engineering and Surveying

This category will recognise the achievements of USQ students in Engineering and Surveying.

Go WEST USQ Student Award - Sciences
