Program focus
This qualification provides students with the opportunity to
expand their knowledge in both commerce and business fields. Students
must select a major from Commerce and a major from Business, with
considerable flexibility regarding the remainder of the program. Commerce
majors include: Accounting and General Commerce, Economics, Finance
and Business Law. Business majors include: Administrative Management,
Human Resource Management, Logistics and Operations Management, Management
and Leadership, Marketing and Tourism Management. Please refer to

Program aims
The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business provide a
sound foundation in all aspects of Commerce and Business. These degrees
are vocationally oriented emphasising the management and resolution
of business problems in both private and public sectors.

How to apply
Domestic students
Application for undergraduate programs may be made through
the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). The same procedure
applies whether you plan to study on-campus or by distance education.
If you completed Year 12 at a Queensland secondary school you
will be assessed for entry on the basis of your Overall Position (OP)
or equivalent score. Year 12 students from other states or territories
are considered for entry on the basis of their UAI, ENTER or TER and
the subject prerequisites indicated. Other applicants
will be based on their overall Rank. You should ensure you submit
your application by the closing
dates.
International students
This program is offered to international students. An international
student is a person who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen
and not an Australian permanent resident. Please refer to USQ International for information about entry requirements, visa arrangements and

Program fees
Student contribution amount
For domestic students who are offered Commonwealth supported
places, the Government pays some money directly to the University,
but students are also required to make a contribution. This contribution
is called the ‘student contribution’. For more information

Tuition fee
Domestic fee-paying places are funded entirely through the tuition/direct
fees paid by the student. Tuition/direct fees vary depending on the

International fees
International students pay tuition fees. For details about international

Program structure
The combined degree of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of
Business consists of 32 courses (in most cases single-unit courses).
Students are required to select one major from Commerce: Accounting,
Business Law, Economics, Finance, General Commerce and one major
from Business: Administrative Management, Human Resource Management,
Logistics and Operations Management, Management and Leadership, Marketing
and Tourism Management. The remaining courses available provide students
with the option of a third major (from either Commerce or Business)
or a combination of a minor and electives. This program may be undertaken
on-campus in Toowoomba or Springfield, or via the external mode. Refer

this Handbook for further information on majors available at the respective
campuses. The length of the program is four years full-time or eight
years part-time, with a maximum completion time of 9 years from enrolment
of program.
