Program focus

This program prepares graduates for the rapidly expanding computer industry. It offers the option of accounting, business law, finance, general commerce, sustainable business, and sustainable economics and policy majors, combined with the information technology management or information systems development majors. Graduates are trained in the principles of information systems and have extensive practical experience in the application of these principles in the business environment. Professional accreditation

This program has been developed considering the accreditation requirements of the relevant bodies.

Accounting major students will meet the educational entrance requirements of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA). (Note: Students must also complete FIN1101 Introduction to Financial Management to meet the requirements of these bodies.) Accounting major students who complete a finance minor will meet the educational entrance requirements of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).

Finance major graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements to become an Associate member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).

The Bachelor of Information Technology will satisfy the academic requirements for membership of the Australian Computer Society.
