Program focus
This program provides experience in a range of print production
tasks involved with editing and publishing. Topics of study include:
Editing Practice, Proof Reading and Writing for Editors. Coursework
in the Graduate Certificate can be credited towards the Graduate Diploma
of Editing and Publishing.

Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who have developed:

a high degree of knowledge about the theoretical, legal and
ethical aspects of professional editing and publishing
-
practical knowledge and skills in key areas of professional
editing and publishing.

Program objectives
On successful completion of the program, students will demonstrate
a fundamental knowledge of:
in the publishing environment.
The Graduate Certificate focuses on editing and publishing in
the print or text medium and includes activities associated with online
publication.

Admission requirements
Entry requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Editing and
Publishing are:
-
completion of a Bachelor degree in any recognised tertiary field,
or equivalent, at pass level or above, which has been awarded not
more than 10 years previous to the date of admission to the program.
International applicants must have met the University's
English language requirements or have completed the University's
ELICOS/UNIPREP program.
Note: There will be no admission for the Graduate Certificate
in Editing and Publishing for commencement in semester 2

Domestic students
Application for postgraduate programs may be made directly
to USQ. You should ensure you submit your application by the closing
dates.
International students
This program is offered to international students. An international
student is a person who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen
and not an Australian permanent resident. Please refer to USQ International for information about entry requirements, visa arrangements and
how to apply.

Program fees
Tuition fee
Domestic fee-paying places are funded entirely through the tuition/direct
fees paid by the student. Tuition/direct fees vary depending on the
courses that are taken. For more information about Tuition Fees, including
the calculation of fees for a particular program of study, refer to USQ Fees.
International fees
International students pay tuition fees. For details about international
student fees, refer to the International Fee Schedule provided by USQ International.

Program structure
The Graduate Certificate in Editing and Publishing consists
of the four units that comprise the four core courses in Level 1 of
the Graduate Diploma of Editing and Publishing. There are no elective
courses.

Required time limits
Students have a maximum of 2 years to complete this program.
