Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who will be able to demonstrate
advanced skills in at least one area of professional communication
and/or advanced knowledge of international communication issues and
problems.

Program objectives
On successful completion of the program, students will be able
to:

demonstrate a knowledge of the application of communication
theory to a practical communications area
-
initiate, plan and execute (under supervision) research tasks
to a high professional level in a selected area of international communication
in either a theoretical or applied context.

Admission requirements
Students will require a three-year undergraduate (Bachelor)
qualification (with relevant work experience) in any field from an
Australian university or a four-year qualification from an USA university
or a three-year Honours degree from a British university or a four-year
Honours degree from a Scottish university. Applicants from other countries
must minimally have a three-year Bachelor qualification but admission
will be determined on a country-by-country, case-by-case basis. In
all cases, relevant work experience will be taken into consideration.
For ease of administration, students will normally apply for, and
be admitted to, the Master of International Communication, but might
then opt to exit with either the Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate
Diploma.

Program fees
Tuition fee
Domestic fee-paying places are funded entirely through the tuition/direct
fees paid by the student. Tuition/direct fees vary depending on the
courses that are taken. For more information about Tuition Fees, including

International fees
International students pay tuition fees. For details about international
student fees, refer to the International Fee Schedule provided by USQ International.

Program structure
The Postgraduate Diploma of stage of the Master of International Communication
program comprises eight units, including two core courses
and six elective courses. At least two units must be selected from
each of the participating universities, including one core course
from each university. Each course is weighted at one unit unless otherwise
stated.

Required time limits
Students have a maximum of 4 years to complete this program.

Elective courses
Elective courses will be selected from the list of courses in
the Advertising and Public Relations or Journalism and Media or Communication
Theory strands indicated in the table in the Master of International
Communication.

IT requirements
Students must have access to high level computing capacity (at
least Pentium level) including email and Internet access.

Recommended enrolment pattern
Completion of the following two core courses in the Postgraduate Certificate in International Communication program:
Plus Six more units from other courses on offer, provided
that at least one of these additional six courses comes from
EACH of the participating institutions.
