Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officer Nomination Information

In accordance with the University's Anti-Discrimination and Freedom from Harassment PolicyHarassment and Discrimination Contact Officers (HDCOs) are appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to provide options to both employees and students for resolving any form of discrimination and harassment. The role of HDCO is voluntary and appointments are for up to three years.

HDCOs provide a valuable contribution to the University in ensuring that individuals are able to make an informed choice about further action.


The University may decide to conduct a recruitment process for additional Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officers at various times throughout the year. Employees will be informed when this Expression of Interest process occurs.

Nominations are currently being accepted. The closing date for nominations is 4.00pm, Friday 6 March 2015. 

Nominees interested in nominating as a Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officer should complete the Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officer nomination form (DOC 37kb) and be returned via email to HDCOnominations@usq.edu.au.

In areas where employees do not have email access, supervisors should ensure that a hard copy of this information and the nomination forms are provided to employees.  Hard copy nomination forms can be submitted to Human Resources Reception (Level 4, S Block) by the due date.

It is mandatory that you discuss your interest in this role with your supervisor and provide them with a copy of the Harassment and Discrimination Contact Officer Profile, which includes the killds, knowledge and attributes required. You will require the support of your supervisor to attend training and to act in the role when called upon.
