EO Online training
The University is committed to providing a positive, supportive environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment, and where all students and staff are treated fairly and equitably. EO Online training aims to assist with this goal.
What is EO Online training
EO Online is an online training program for staff covering the areas of equal opportunity, discrimination and harassment. It has been developed specifically for staff in the higher education sector by a consortium of Australian universities. It is a self-paced learning program that is easy to access and use. EO Online uses real life case studies and interactive learning techniques to explore principles, terminology and application of legislation.
Content of the program
EO Online covers theoretical knowledge and a practical understanding of how to apply equal opportunity principles in work and study environments. The program provides information about:

The anti-discrimination and harassment complaints process

Your rights and obligations in this area
The program is structured in two Modules, and anticipated learning outcomes include:

learning how to deal with and prevent discrimination and harassment in the workplace

understanding legal rights and responsibilities to achieve a discrimination and harassment free campus

increasing awareness of equity policies, issues and strategies in the workplace
-
having a reference for dealing with issues and grievances.
Completion of the program
All continuing and fixed term staff are required to completed Module 1 of the training program. Staff with management or supervisory responsibilities, including the supervision of students, are required to also complete both Modules 1 and 2 of the program.
Modules can be completed in one or more sessions and each module should take around 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. On completion of each Module, staff will be requested to complete an electronic registration form which will be automatically forwarded via the EO Online email address to Human Resources for record keeping purposes.
Complete the EO Online program by moving through the relevant modules. EO Online modules must be completed, as appropriate, by all staff every two years.
Feedback and further information
The program will be reviewed regularly and users' comments will be a key component of this review process. Staff are encouraged to provide their feedback on EO Online.
