Lecturer or Postdoctoral Fellows - Agricultural, Civil and Environmental Engineering (2 Positions)

Faculty of Engineering and Surveying (Toowoomba)

The Faculty of Engineering and Surveying wishes to fill two vacancies in the teaching and research of agricultural, civil and environmental engineering. Applicants will bring design, analysis and research skills to enhance the faculty strengths, particularly in the areas of agricultural, structural, pavement, water resources or construction engineering. The appointee will contribute significantly to teaching and research in their core area of expertise, supervise undergraduate honours and postgraduate students, and initiate and develop new research projects in this area.

The Faculty of Engineering and Surveying is active in the Australian Centre for Sustainable Catchments, the National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture and the Computational Engineering and Science Research Centres within the university. The appointees will be expected to initiate, undertake and lead research work within one of these research centres.

These full-time appointments will be for a period of three years.

Applicants must possess a four-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent and a PhD or a research higher degree with practical experience in a relevant area. Applicants will be expected to be able to teach in one of the specific engineering disciplines identified above and may be asked to contribute in a broad range of core engineering subjects including engineering problem solving and management. The ability to contribute to the further development of the research profile of the Faculty and to gain external grant funding is also required.
