HR Professional Development Program

The HR Professional Development Program has been developed to provide learning and development opportunities for all USQ employees aimed at increasing skills, broadening experience and enhancing future career opportunities.  Additionally, from an organisational perspective, this robust and vibrant program is aimed at contributing to the retention of talented employees and boosting productivity through engagement. 

Program information and how to register

Registration for all HR PD Programs is online via Self Service. Registration can be completed either by an individual employee or by a manager/supervisor on behalf of their employees.  First time users should refer to information on how to access course information and register their participation. 

Location

Most face to face programs are offered at USQ Toowoomba only in the first instance, however if you are at another USQ location you are encouraged to speak with your supervisor regarding attendance in the first instance. Human Resources will assess the viability of requests to conduct training on either campus on a case by case basis. If your work group is interested in any of these opportunities and would like to undertake any program as a unit, for further details please contact the HR team at HRProfessional.Development@usq.edu.au.

Cost

Unless stipulated, all programs are available to USQ employees at no cost, under full sponsorship by Human Resources and the Vice-Chancellor. However please note that a $50 'no-show' fee will apply where a registered participant withdraws without notice from sessions which are facilitated by external presenters. Occasionally a session may be made non-viable by late cancellations. As this may incur presenters' costs the 'no show' fee is necessary. Forty-eight (48) hours' notice of withdrawal is required except in exceptional circumstances.

The sessions to which the 'no show' fee applies are noted in the course outlines.

Training facilities

Rooms S211/S212, S208 and S210 are predominantly used for the HR Staff Development Program, however may be available for USQ-related bookings from time to time.
