Establishing Positions

Summary:

Position establishment is the process of creating and seeking approval for a position within the University. A formal system exists at the University for planning and reviewing its position establishment.

To establish or create a new position, or vary an existing established position you need to do the following:

Step 1 (New Positions) - A Request to Advertise Form and Business Case Form must be prepared by the Category 4 Delegate or above.

Step 1 (Vacant Established Positions) - a Request to Advertise Form must be prepared by the Category 4 Delegate or above.

Step 2  - Forward to Human Resources electronically with a draft position description and advertisement. Human Resources will obtain approvals as appropriate.

Records of the approved position establishment are maintained by Human Resources.
