Position Classification Standards describe general characteristics expected of positions at each USQ classification level and are a useful resource in the preparation of position descriptions for both academic and professional positions. In particular, selection criteria for all USQ positions are required to comply with the PCS in relation to Training Level or Qualifications - this statement (and the equivalency reference) must be included in all position descriptions. Professional Employees Position Classification Standards for professional positions provide an indication of the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and experience necessary to undertake professional positions at each classification Level 1 to 10. The PCS include a list of typical activities and tasks undertaken at each level. Academic Employees Position Classification Standards for academic positions cover all employee positions classified at Academic Level A, B, C, D or E. The range and level of function undertaken will vary between levels according to the degree of skill, responsibility and knowledge involved. Foundation/Uniprep/English Language Teaching Employees Position Classification Standards for Foundation/UniPrep/English Language Teaching Employees provide an indication of the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and experience necessary to undertake positions at each classification Level A and B. The PCS include a list of principal accountabilities and indicative duties undertaken at each level. |
