D1.3.1(a) Council and the Vice-Chancellor are responsible for determining the position establishment of the University.

D1.3.1(b) Application for a review of a position classification may be initiated on an "as needs" basis by either the authorised delegate in the faculty or section or the incumbent of the established position.

Refer Section D8: Job Evaluation (Classifications and Reclassifications) for more information.

D1.3.2 Vacant positions

When recruitment action is required on a vacant established position a Request to Advertise Form must be prepared by the Category 4 Delegate or above and forwarded electronically with a draft position description and advertisement to Human Resources.

To create a new established position, or vary an existing established position, a Request to Advertise Form must be prepared by the Category 4 Delegate or above and forwarded electronically with a draft position description and advertisement to Human Resources.  Human Resources will obtain approvals as appropriate.

D1.3.4 Position descriptions and job evaluation
