Service Description

The Division of  ICT administers the network infrastructure and services - Local Area Network, Wide Area Network and Wireless - for USQ campuses, colleges and USQ-owned network equipment located at the QRNO or 3rd party facilities.  This includes all network specific devices located within communications risers, wiring closets, communication rooms and dedicated computing environments (datacentres and server rooms).

Network Devices include:

  • switches;
  • routers;
  • firewalls;
  • network appliances;
  • carrier interface equipment;
  • servers;
  • cabling (copper and optic fibre);
  • communication racks;
  • power sub systems, and
  • support systems and tools.

The Data Networking and Internet area handles requests for:

  • planning and implementing new networking infrastructure;
  • moving and upgrading existing network equipment;
  • investigating and solving specific network problems eg cables accidentally broken or dug up by earthmoving equipment.

Service Availability

These services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding scheduled maintenance windows
Support 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday
