Laptop Loans
What is this service?
Computer laptops are available for the University staff to borrow for USQ work related purposes. They are available for loan from the ICT Service Desk on a daily/weekly basis dependent on the circumstances and availability. Laptops are loaned for on-campus meetings, USQ community events and temporary replacement for work computers that fail.
What does this service include?
All laptops have the current Standard Operating Environment installed. Additional USQ/ICT software can be installed as requested if the laptop is replacing your desktop. Laptops may be borrowed for the following reasons:
- On campus meetings
- USQ community events (eg Open Day, Student Orientation)
- Failure of work computer
What is not included in this service?
Laptops will not be loaned in the following circumstances:
- Conference attendance
- Overseas travel
- Personal home use

How do I access this service?
The first step is to contact the ICT Service Desk to check that a laptop is available for the dates required. Then fill out the Computer Laptop Loan form, and ensure that Section Two of the form is filled out by your financial delegate. Finally bring the completed form over to the ICT Service Desk to complete the booking.
Is there a charge for this service?
The laptop loan service is funded by ICT and there is no charge for USQ staff. Should a laptop that is out on loan be damaged or lost, the cost centre of the staff member who is borrowing the laptop will meet associated costs.
