Microsoft Office 2010

Office 2010 will be installed in the student computer labs and lecture Theatres from Semester 1 2011. Staff will be able to request Office 2010 to be installed on their computers from March 2011 onwards. To request this go to ICT Self Service and create aservice request in the left menu.

Office 2010 saves documents in the docx format which was implmented with Office 2007.  This means documents created in Office 2010 can automatically be opened with Office 2007. If a document needs to be opened with earlier versions of Office (2003 backwards) users can change the setting to 97-2003 format when saving.

ICT Training will be offering courses in Office 2010 (Office familiarisation, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2010 upgrades) and we strongly recommend staff who are upgrading attend these sessions. Information on these courses and registration will be available on the Professional Development site.

The ICT Service Desk, through the Microsoft Work at Home Agreement (WAH) now has Office 2010 available for purchase.
