How to Access the Labs

Swipe Cards

Students and staff require swipe cards to access the student labs at Toowoomba, Fraser Coast and Springfield. You cannot access the labs if you do not have a swipe card. Springfield students need cards to access the building, and the 24 hours lab after hours.

Swipe cards are issued as follows:

• Toowoomba by the Student Guild at the USQ Rec Centre
• Fraser Coast  by the Student Guild at Lakeside Building
• Springfield by the Education City security personnel

If a problem is experienced with a card, please take it to the ICT Service Desk to be checked.

Student Accounts

On-campus students

All students registered for any on campus course will have an account with the General Purpose Microcomputer Laboratories. Each registration provides access to applications, laser printers, printer quota and UConnect. Each student is issued a username and password in order to logon to access these resources. Using this registration is subject to the Universities Use of Information Technology Resources Policy.

External students

External students do not automatically have access to use the computer labs at Toowoomba, Fraser Coast and Springfield, and need to contact the ICT Service Desk at least 24 hours prior to arriving on campus.   You can phone, email, or visit the ICT Service Desk in person.

• If emailing the ICT Service Desk  please put 'Access to the On Campus Computer Labs' in the subject line and include your Student Number, Course Details, Date of Birth and Current Address in the email.
• If  visiting the ICT Service Desk in person, you are required to provide a student card, or another form of photo identification.

You can check if you have an active account by telephoning +61 7 4631 1900. Students who have registered at the Fraser Coast or Springfield Campuses do not need to re-register to use the Toowoomba computer labs.
