How to Use the Labs
Logging on to Windows XP Workstations
To log on to the computers you:

Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

Enter your username and password (link to the student username and passwords page).

Make sure that the Log on to: field is set to "STUDENT"

Click on the OK button to logon.
Logging off
When you have finished your work, make sure you log off. To log off the computers:

Double click the red 'Log off' icon located on the computer Desktop.
This will log you off and restart the PC, at which time the computer carries out administrative tasks.
Student drives
Each student that is registered to use the labs (Toowoomba, Fraser Coast or Springfield) has an 80 megabyte Home (or H) Drive allocated to them. The purpose of the Home Drive is to provide students with:

an area for saving and backing-up assignment work

Word, Excel recovery area and Internet Explorer preferences.
Note: It is the students' responsibility to back up any data saved in their H drive area.
Each computer laboratory contains at least one computer with a CD/RW drive to enable students to copy important information to CD.
Hardware failure
Machine faults sometimes occur and any failure should be reported to the ICT Service Desk in E Block, +61 7 4631 1900 or email ictsevicedesk@usq.edu.au
