I started my USQ experience as a student, and have now come full circle, working as an Human Resources Officer (Organisational Development). In the last year of my Bachelor of Business I received an Industry Experience placement in a recruitment agency, which turned into full-time work. Whilst I was in this role I realised that my passion lay in inspiring people to enjoy their jobs; hence my career aspiration to work in the training and development field ignited.
When a position arose at USQ in Organisational Development, I jumped at the chance to work for my former University. I have now been in this role for two years. It is quite a broad role, one in which I believe that I have grown professionally and personally since taking it on. USQ provides me with the chance to continuously learn and develop and I am very grateful for this. For me, the best part about working at USQ is the team environment. I have a lot of interaction with both professional and academic employees, and through work related events I have been able to build good connections. It has also helped that I have a great manager who mentors and encourages me to put myself out there. It’s a great place to work and I enjoy giving back to my former education provider where ever I can!
