Application assessment

The University is an Equal Opportunity employer. Employees are recruited based on merit, which means that the person best suited to the requirements of the role and needs of the University will be appointed to the position. The principle of equity is applied to the University's recruitment and selection practices. As such the University will seek to create conditions under which all persons will have an equal opportunity to seek and obtain employment.


A Selection Panel is established for each vacant position at the University. After applications have closed, the panel will meet over the next two weeks to assess each application against the selection criteria required for the position. In the event that the shortlisting process is delayed beyond the usual two week period, a notification will be sent to you via your registered email address.

Your application will be reviewed by all members of the selection panel and assessed accordingly. The selection panel will then decide which applicants will be placed on a short list for interview.

If you have been successful in being shortlisted a member of Human Resources will contact you to schedule an interview. Confirmation of the interview and relevant details will also be sent to the email address registered in your profile.

If you need any special access or support requirements to attend the interview (eg accessible parking or adaptive equipment), please ensure you advise the person arranging the interview.

If you have not been successful in obtaining an interview, you will be advised via email.
