Leah Baldwin

Leah BaldwinI have been working at USQ for about 24 years in a variety of challenging and diverse roles, from Laboratory Technician, to student support roles, and to my current role as the Human Resources Receptionist.

The biggest highlights of my career have been twofold; supporting students, where I have really made a difference in people’s lives. The other highlight is a personal one where I have been supported to take on responsibilities and develop my skills on a much higher level than I had previously. My supervisor recognised that I had the ability to take on an important new role and they supported me throughout the experience. It really gave me a boost, both personally and to my career.

I have a great group of friends at USQ from all over the campus. We might not be able to catch up as regularly as we would like, but we are there for each other, should the need arise.

At USQ there is a great sense of community spirit. People want to make a difference and take pride in USQ. There is a real sense of belonging here, and USQ enables us to achieve our goals, and supports us along the way. There are opportunities and challenges at USQ if you choose to take them on. There is flexibility if you need it and support in many forms and there is also recognition for the work you do. USQ is about people and achievements and the journey along the way.
