To support students enrolled in nursing studies, The Learning Centre provides a range of activities to assist with mathematics and chemistry skills. These include:

Chemistry workshop - two days covering various chemistry topics
Readiness testing (PDF* 234 KB)  and answers (PDF* 52 KB) - to help prepare for future nursing studies

Mathematics

MAT1008 Building Professional Nursing Attributes B

All students enrolled in undergraduate nursing are required to complete MAT1008 Building Professional Nursing Attributes B, which will develop your necessary mathematics and computing skills.

NUR2000 Medication: Theory and Practice

Readiness testing in mathematics (USQConnect username and password required)  to self assess your knowledge and skills.

'Help with drug calculations' for NUR2000 Medication: Theory and Practice. Classes will be held in Semester 2 (times to be announced).

• Week 1 and 2: Identifying maths problems, tablet and capsule dosages
• Week 3 and 4: Oral and injected liquid doses, revision
• Week 5 and 6: Intravenous therapy calculations, revision
• Weeks 13 and 14: Paediatric calculations, revision
