To support students enrolled in statistics, The Learning Centre provides a range of activities associated with mathematics and learning skills these include:
Mathematics
Success in Maths for Statistics on-campus workshops (Toowoomba and Springfield only)
Topics include formulas, arithmetic, calculator, basic statistics, graphing. See the workshop program. Complete the online readiness testing in mathematics (USQConnect username and password required) to self assess your knowledge and determine whether you need to attend this workshop.
A weekly support program (PDF* 85kb) is offered throughout the semester which includes a number of support activities.

Arithmetic** - useful keys on the calculator; order of calculation, percentage change, decimals, fractions, ratios, reading tables.

Graphing** - relationships as graphs, drawing graphs, the linear function, applications in statistics

One-hour calculator workshops held on Toowoomba campus in Week 2 for on-campus students and during Residential School for off-campus students (Toowoomba campus only).

Meet-Up
Meet-Up online and on campus workshop sessions are run by a student leader who has successfully completed the course. The workshops focus on learning skills within course content. Workshop activities provide help with preparing for assignments and exams. Students will be notified through the course Study Desk.
