Analyse and review
This stage is the start of designing a new course or reviewing an existing course. Analyse the following contextual elements before moving to the planning and design stage:
- Review how well your course meets program or disciplinary requirements
- Analyse performance of previous course offers
- Examine the context of the course, including the profile of the student/learner cohort of student/learner cohort, student numbers, delivery mode etc
- Identify or review relevant industry and/or professional accreditation requirements
- Review details of course specification that were included during original program accreditation
- Identify any key threshold concepts that may prevent barriers to student progression
