On Wednesday 18 July 2012, Dr Hoven presented three workshops under the theme e-Portfolios: construction, approaches, varieties and processes in post-secondary education

The three workshops were:
1. Workshop for Beginners at 10:00am to 12:00pm in R113
2. Advanced Workshop at 1:30pm-2:30pm in S211
3. Drop in Session (hands on) from 3:00pm to 4:00pm in S211

The aim of the workshops was to provide participants with an overview of the breadth of uses and applicability of digital media, reflective practice, community and social networking in education. This overview and hands-on exposure covered a range of post-secondary contexts, countries and cultures. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and the facilitator will provide a variety of tools, links and sites, mostly free or open source, to suit participants’ needs and backgrounds. Drawing on her considerable experience in Australasian, European and north American educational institutions, the facilitator demonstrated and illustrated how digital media can and has been used in different contexts to promote experiential learning, critical reflection, transition from learning to practice, community cohesion and lifelong learning in open and distance education.
