UNE's Early Alert Program Workshop
11 February 2013
The Early Alert Program is the cornerstone of the student engagement and retention project at UNE and it uses multiple data sources to automatically highlight students who may be ‘at risk’ of disengagement and dropping attrition and through case-management afford them every chance of success.
Early Alert delivers an innovative program which identifies and supports students, irrespective of where they study. UNE’s student population is distinctive by the virtue of its distance education offerings where approximately 80% of students study via distance. This complicates the way in which staff can identify and engage with students who may be at risk of dropping out.
