Professor Merrilyn Goos

Merrilyn Goos PhD is Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia. She has a distinguished career in mathematics education and her implementation of high quality assessment in teacher education programs was recognised through an Australian Award for University Teaching (2004). In 2006 she was awarded a ALTC Associate Fellowship to conduct a one year project that will develop the capacity of course coordinators to effectively implement the university's assessment policies, especially in relation to criterion referenced assessment. Professor Goos shared her experiences of assessment policy and practice, and the preliminary results of her project on assessment.
