Dr Robyn Smyth
Dr Robyn Smyth is a Senior Lecturer working as an Academic Developer in the School of Rural Medicine at the University of New England specialising in curriculum design, using rich media technology in higher and medical education and for student centred pedagogies. She has been an active researcher using and investigating video communications, their pedagogies and potential for use as tools to support student learning.
Principally her research is focussed on the potential of rich media technologies to enhance interaction for distance learning in higher education, including for higher degree research supervision. Currently Robyn is leading a sector-wide investigation into the
sustainability, viability and scalability of rich media technologies in Australian universities funded by the
Australian Learning and Teaching Council.
