2011

Senior Fellows

Dr Alexander Kist (Faculty of Engineering and Surveying) for his development of an integrated evaluation tool that will measure the online teaching and learning activities and performance of students who rely on the internet for their course materials, study and teaching needs. The project will provide strategies for the design and use of an integrated platform that will assist students who study off campus and will augment USQ's inetrnational reputation for online materials delivery.

Associate Fellows

Dr Karen Noble (Faculty of Education), Dr Robyn Henderson (Faculty of Education), Dr Peter McIlveen (Faculty of Education), Assoc Professor Lorelle Burton (Faculty of Sciences) for their project to explore the concept and development of a web-based Virtual Education Commons that brings together students, teachers and academics into an on-line professional development experience. The program will extend the univesrity's student engagement activities and will involve USQ alumni in developing closer links with currently enrolled students and other community-based groups. The project will also provide a repository of tools for other USQ staff to access.

Assoc Professor Yan Li (Faculty of Sciences) for her work in investigating the impact of the USQ Networking Industry Partnership Program in developing graduate skills and work-ready students. In association with USQ's Careers and Employment staff, research survey results will be used to inform the continuous improvement of the program which allows enrolled students to gain an industry accredited Cisco Certified Networking Associate Certificate while completing their USQ degree. The program also trains Queensland IT teachers and IT professionals.

    This project will increase the number of tablet pcs on campus, build capacity through staff training and support, consolidate innovative ideas and experiences with tablets and subsequently enhance the student learning experience
