Scholarship and research
Scholarship of learning and teaching (SOTL) is an important part of teaching practice at USQ. The Policy on Research and Scholarship defines both scholarship and research within USQ's context. It involves:
engagement with research into teaching and learning
critical reflection of practice by self and peers
communication and dissemination about the practice of one's subject.
The Teaching-Research Nexus: a guide to academics and policy-makers in higher education is an extensive web resource which includes practical examples of ways in which teaching, learning and research are linked to the benefit of all in higher education. This is especially useful for discipline based researchers who want to align their teaching and research.

International Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning
is an open, peer-reviewed, international electronic journal published twice a year by the Centre for Excellence in Teaching at Georgia Southern University to be an international vehicle for articles, essays, and discussions about the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and its applications in higher/tertiary education today.
