Orientation

Listen to what's on at the Library during orientation via the Library's Library podcast audio news.

Getting started

Your student card acts as your Library card. Take it to the Loans Desk to register for borrowing.

Pick up a Your Guide to the USQ Library. They include information about what is happening during Orientation as well as useful Library information.

Library tours

Library tours are a quick way to find out what services and facilities the Library has. If you can't make one of the advertised tours during O'Week, please ask desk staff for an informal tour at any time or contact the Library.

Library classes

At the beginning of each semester the Library runs classes to equip students with the skills they need to find information for their assignments. Bookings are essential. Class times vary for the different campuses and can be found on the Library Classes and tours page.

Lucky Numbers Giveaways

When you register your card, take a Library tour, or book into a Library class, make sure you get a lucky number ticket from staff.  Check this against the Lucky numbers board in the Library and the Library TV monitors to see if you are an instant winner.

Library displays

Visit the Toowoomba or Springfield Library and check out the Study Skills display. This contains resources from the Library collection on basic study skills such as taking lecture notes, good study habits, preparing an assignment and how to write assignments. If you can't make it into the Library, check out the virtual Study Skills display.

Library "whodunit" game

If you'd like the chance to score extra lucky number tickets play our Library 'whodunit' game. A crime has been committed and we need your help to gather clues around the Library and track down the guilty party. Only for super sleuths with a keen eye for detail! See the Information Desk staff for your first clue.
