In addition to the bags funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee, USQ Library has received some government funding via the Commonwealth's Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program. This funding allows the Library to provide return postage bags to students living in specific postcode areas. Postcode is a government imposed criterion for determining socio-economic profile. Those students whose postcodes of home location fall within the lowest quartile of the population of a given catchment region (national, state or urban), determined by the value of the ABS Index of Education and Occupation (EdOcc), are regarded as being disadvantaged as a result of their socio-economic status.
If eligible, pre-paid return postage bags will be included in with your parcels of requested books.
This service is only available to permanent residents or Australian citizens. Limited funding has been provided and once expended, this service can no longer be continued. To find out more, contact the Library.
Any students outside the designated postcode areas who feel they are unfairly disadvantaged should contact the USQ Student Equity Office.
